Festival Description

Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church is hosting a fall music festival Saturday, November 16, 2024. We are inviting you to participate in this one-of-a-kind special event! Our goal is to celebrate our Lord by sharing in the gift of song in both traditional and modern styles. We aim to provide YOU, the music leaders and musicians of your churches, the fuel of the Word of God, that the Holy Spirit will work in us and, then, through you, to provide an added flame to your worship settings.

A full schedule provides the following:
Hymn Sing
Topics Session (choose from the following)
o Creativity in Worship “Traditional or Modern?
o Leadership in Worship “Music leadership and Copyrights
o Technology in Worship “Quick Tips and tricks about Audio in Worship
Rehearsals for the following:
  o Festival Choir
  o Men’s and Women’s Vocal Ensembles
  o Brass Ensemble
  o Woodwinds Ensemble
  o Christian Bands
7 p.m. Final Concert, open to the public, door offering accepted.

Registration is $60 per participant with exception of the bands. The registration fee helps offset the costs of all professionally held rehearsals, the topic sessions, and the festival meals. Each will receive music ahead of the festival for intended preparation (music will be middle to upper intermediate level). Upon check-in, participants will be handed a welcome bag, lanyard tag, and full schedule.

Christian bands are to submit a recording for consideration. Our committee will select four. Those four will pay a fee of $175. This fee also helps offset the costs (as written above) performance coaching from Wynne Adams of Nashville, and meals for all its members. Bands will play one of two prepared songs at the final concert, and are also offered a merchandise table within our vendor area.

The vocal and instrument ensembles will be appointed a leader in each group, and the festival choir will be led by talented director, David Whipple, Jr., of Tellico Village. The choir will be limited to 65 singers and will be accepted on a “first come” basis. Brass, woodwinds and strings ensembles will be limited according to instrument. See website for further information.

Professional audio engineer, James (Jammer) McLean, will be on site to create the best sound possible for the performances. He will also provide some valuable information in his Quick Tips and Tricks topic session.

Pastor Brian Truog of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church will provide insight to worship settings in regards to Traditional and Modern worship.

The festival is led by Composer/Christian Artist Candace Sutter, and Worship Director of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church. She will also discuss Leadership in Worship and Copyright in the topics session.

Vendors will be available the evening prior and throughout the day of the festival.

The final concert will cap off the evening at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:15. A door offering will be taken upon entrance. Seating is limited.
